Songs that “bring you back”
Russell and I are having a deep discussions of songs that “bring us back” to a moment in time and/or emotion. This was started because we heard our wedding song twice today, while running errands. Both times we weren’t standing next to each other and instinctively looked up to find each other and gave a smirk.
Here are the songs we’ve discussed:
Dashboard Confessional - Screaming Infidelities — brings us both back to senior year of high school for different reasons.
I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston (timely, eh?) — brings me back to senior year of high school, in the car screaming it with my best friend Lauren
For Good - Wicked Soundtrack — Reminds me of 4/16 and CMH.
Waste - Phish — Reminds me of Russell
Hey Ma - Cam’Ron — Reminds Russell of high school
Dixie Chicks - Easy Silence — played this over and over again in college, reminds me of Russell
There are SO many more that I can’t remember right now (blame the half bottle of wine I’ve consumed tonight)…but I’m curious. What songs “bring you back”?
